Do you want to organize an event, but don’t know where to get the funding to make all your event plans happen. If you just nodded in agreement, then you should read this blog.

Getting sponsors is an issue for most event planners. You have to be very convincing to make people finance your event. We ensure you that "I am a good guy, so please sponsor me" won’t work, as you need to entice people to be your sponsors!

To help you with this delicate task, Eventish offers you the following tips for getting your event sponsored.

Make a list of your target companies

List all the companies that for some reason may sponsor your event. This will mostly depend on the people who will attend your event and the venue of your event, e.g. if you are organizing an event for students, your target sponsors will be youth-oriented companies who will be interested in your event .

Make a list of advertising opportunities

After creating the list of possible sponsors, think of how they will be able to promote their businesses during your event. The common promotion opportunities are displaying company streamers and banners at your event, including company logos in your event’s main streamer, and plugging in the name of the company between various activities during the event.

Offer sponsorship packages

After you have listed down the possible advertising opportunities, it is time to create sponsorship packages which are labeled as bronze, gold and platinum. Set the amount that a company should give to be entitled to a particular sponsorship package.

The main idea is - the higher the monetary amount the company gives you, the more advertising opportunities you give in return, e.g. if a company takes your silver sponsorship package, they would get one banner at your event, plus their company logo included in your event’s main banner, if they take the platinum package, they would get 3 banners, the right to set up a booth at your event and plus "in partnership" status.

Write a good sponsorship letter

Write a sponsorship letter that is brief and to the point. Do not include all the nitty-gritty details. Just present the sponsoring benefits in bullet form so that the company representative will be able to understand it easily. We will give you more detailed tips on writing a good sponsorship letter in one of our upcoming blogs.

In conclusion, remember that getting sponsored requires a lot of work and determination!

Hope our blog will help you to plan and promote events that achieve results! Good luck with your events!
