Weddings are life changing events that require time, care, planning and creativity. Planning your wedding can be difficult, as most brides and grooms want everything to be perfect. To achieve the best results without forgetting anything, here are a few wedding DO's and DON'Ts that will help you keep your planning organized.

Wedding Do's

Do create a complete guest list. This is the first step since without this list you cannot start looking for a wedding venue (no one wants to book a venue and then suddenly realize that it is too small for the guests).

Do set a final wedding budget. Be realistic about it. The average cost is usually around $100 per person. But remember, you'll need to allocate some money for your dress, location, and other expenses, as well.

Do book your wedding venue as early as possible. By solving this problem as quickly as possible, you may get your ideal date.

Do hire a professional wedding planner or coordinator. A professional wedding consultant will relieve all the stress and anxiety connected with your wedding planning.

Do save money for a honeymoon! Even if you cannot afford a big trip, it's nice to at least reserve an elegant hotel room to spend some quality time together! Never push your honeymoon for a later date, because many people never end up actually going the further out it is pushed.

Do think of your guests. By starting the ceremony on time, ordering delicious food and drinks, and have good music will all contribute to your guests' good time and good memories on your big day. They may not notice the decorations, but they will surely remember if the venue ran out of wine or if they had to wait for an hour for the ceremony to start.

Do select the music at least a month before the wedding. Finding the right song for the processional, first dance and parent dances are very important. If you are having trouble making song choices, try asking the DJ for advice.

Do respect your groom's ideas and opinions. This is his wedding too. ;)

Wedding Don'ts

Don't forget that the seating chart is not a-five-minute process. Don’t delay it to the last moment, as you'll see it’s not as easy as it sounds.

Don't do something simply because others do it! E.g. if you don’t like the wedding cake sentiment, just skip it!

Don't take all your relatives with you when trying on wedding dresses. :) The more opinions you have, the more confused you will become. Trust your own judgment, since nobody knows better than you what feels and looks the best! Typically, bringing 2 or 3 people along to make your final decision should be sufficient, such as your mom or your maid of honor!

Don't concentrate on microscopic details. This is a day for you to enjoy and have fun with friends and family, but most importantly, sharing the love you've found with your mate.
